Welcome to EC Brown & Sons

EC Brown & Sons are now a fourth generation farming business. We were established in the late 1800's by Zacheus Brown, when he started farming at "Crease Bank" near Peterborough, moving to Wypemere farm in 1911. This is where the farms office is situated.

In 1911, Wypemere farm was just 18.5 hectares (45 acres). Zaccy's son Ernest Cecil Brown (ECB) grew the farm to approximately 44.5 hectares (110 acres), then along side him, his sons Brian, Michael and John expanded the farms to around 243 hectares (600 acres).

In 1982, Jonathan and Robert joined the partnership and their fathers, Michael and Brian, and during this time the acreage has moved up to approximately 647 hectares (1600 acres) through land purchases and farming arrangements with neighbouring farmers.

Jonathan and Robert now operate the business to supply major multiples with specialist products from the fenland area, with a high investment in the latest storage, machinery and staff to produce quality crops for their customers.

'Recent local land purchases of 360ha by Danish farmers has provided an exciting opportunity in conjunction with Savills to add to the farms portfolio.
